V-TAI JD-3

JD-3 Installation Guide

Most small bakeries install the JD-3 in 2–4 hours without major renovation. Here is exactly what your space and utilities need.

Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Confirm floor footprint: 850 × 850 mm (machine + clearance around all sides)
  • Vertical clearance: 2,200 mm minimum so the hood can lift fully
  • Cold water supply within 1.5 m, G 3/4" connection, 2.5–6 kg/cm² pressure
  • Drain within 1.5 m, G 1½" connection (floor drain or wall drain both work)
  • Dedicated 380V / 3N / 50Hz three-phase circuit, 21.5 A capacity, with grounding
  • Optional: 220V single-phase conversion available — specify in your quote

Space Requirements

The JD-3's external dimensions are 804 × 816 mm at the base, with a maximum height of 2,115 mm when the hood is fully open.

  • Front clearance: 600 mm minimum for operator and rack loading
  • Side clearance: 100 mm minimum for ventilation; 400 mm recommended for service access on one side
  • Rear clearance: 150 mm minimum for plumbing and electrical connections
  • Counter integration: The machine can be installed flush with adjacent countertops; specify height adjustment in your quote

Water Connections

  • Inlet: G 3/4" thread, cold water 10–45°C, 2.5–6 kg/cm². A simple shut-off valve and inline filter (mesh strainer) are recommended.
  • Drain: G 1½" thread. Connect to a P-trap leading to floor drain or wall drain. If your drain rises above 200 mm, specify a drain pump option.
  • Hard water: If your municipal water exceeds 200 ppm hardness, we recommend the optional water treatment module to protect heating elements.

Electrical Requirements

  • Power supply: 380V / 3N / 50Hz three-phase
  • Total power: 13 kW
  • Electrical current: 21.5 A — needs a dedicated breaker, NOT shared with other equipment
  • Ground wire: required and verified by your licensed electrician
  • Cable: 5-core (3 phases + neutral + earth), 4 mm² recommended

If your kitchen is on a 220V/single-phase grid (common in North America), confirm with us before ordering — we offer a 220V conversion option.

Why Most Small Bakeries Can Install Without Major Renovation

The JD-3 is sized for the realities of small commercial spaces. The 850 mm footprint fits next to a standard 3-bay sink. The 380V circuit is the same one your commercial oven uses. The drain requirement matches what every commercial kitchen already has. In 95% of installations, the only "renovation" needed is a small modification to where the existing water supply pipe routes.

Day-of Installation

  1. Unbox and inspect (15 minutes)
  2. Position on level floor surface (10 minutes)
  3. Connect water inlet and drain (45 minutes — licensed plumber recommended)
  4. Wire electrical to dedicated breaker (45 minutes — licensed electrician required in most jurisdictions)
  5. Test run: two empty cycles, verify temperature display and water flow (15 minutes)
  6. Operator training: 30-minute walkthrough included with every machine

Training

Included with every JD-3: a 30-minute virtual operator training session (via WhatsApp video or Zoom) with our customer support team. We walk your staff through daily startup, loading techniques, cleaning routine, and emergency shutdown. Recording provided for future hires.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide on-site installation in my country?

For most major markets we partner with local installers — share your address with your quote request and we will connect you. For DIY installations, our video guide and remote support are usually sufficient.

My kitchen is 220V single-phase. Can the JD-3 work?

Yes — we offer a 220V conversion (longer heating cycle, ~150 vs 120 seconds). Note this in your quote request.

Can the JD-3 be moved later?

Yes. It is not bolted to the floor. Two adults can move it on a furniture dolly. Reconnecting at a new location is straightforward.

What if my drain is on the opposite side of the kitchen?

We offer an optional drain pump that can push wastewater up to 2 m vertically or 5 m horizontally to reach your existing drain.
